The American Watercraft Association and K-38 Rescue offer an easy and educational one day course for personal watercraft owners. The course deals with basic rules of the road, common maintenance procedures, and a challenging half-day of practical exercises on the water geared to increase your PWC handling skills.

The course is free and will be offered Saturday May 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Anna Point Marina. A free lunch will be provided by Yamaha Watercraft. The class open to first 40 registrants. Participants must supply their own personal watercraft vehicle.

On June 14th, the club will venture out from the Chickahominy Riverfront Park in Williamsburg. This will put us right near the mouth of both the Chickahominy and the James rivers.  (This area is often called "Two Points".)  The morning portion of the ride ride will consist of heading eastward on this extremely wide portion of the James River.  The cruise will take us towards Jamestown and out to the fleet. Afterwards, the club will head back to take a break and have lunch.  The afternoon will consist of some random rides in either our choice of the Chickahominy or the James River.

This area of the James can have rather "choppy" riding conditions.  While this is more of a cruise, a fair amount of wave jumping can often be expected in this area.  (Now that you've been warned we can anticipate Murphy's Law to provide a very calm day!!)  In contrast, the Chick usually has rather calm conditions just about 5 miles north of the bridge.  This can provide a less bumpy afternoon ride, should the attendees opt for it.
